asabian, formed in 1999 in Leicestershire, England. Although they were pretty big in England, they're lesser known in the US. The first song I've heard from them is "Reason is Treason" in late 2004, which I love. I later discovered that the song I heard was a remix, which is the version that appears in the US release of this album (Blue cover). I loved their first album, but by the time the second album was being released, I sort of became disinterested in them. I did like the song "Empire" but the rest of the second album was kind of boring to me. Perhaps it was because by the second album they got a new guitarist and song writer: Sergio Pizzorno. Chris Karloff, who wrote the first album, was asked to leave the band: [Chris] Karloff and the band experienced certain creative and artistic differences during the writing and recording of their second album. These irreconcilable and diverging approaches resulted in the band asking Karloff to leave the group. Karloff will pursue a musical career elsewhere. Incidentally, Karloff is the one that came up with Kasabian, named after Linda Kasabian of the Charles Mason cult. http://www.kasabian.co.uk http://www.weheartmusic.com
